Our research focus
Three priority areas of exploration.
AI applied to African contexts
We study how to adapt AI models and architectures to datasets, languages and social structures underrepresented in mainstream research — for instance, modeling complex family structures.
NLP & unstructured data
A large share of African knowledge remains oral. We work on transcribing, analyzing and structuring unstructured audio content, such as the elder interviews collected by Elephant.
Generative AI & custom agents
We explore the design of generative agents able to reason over specific business data, with particular attention paid to the reliability and traceability of their outputs.
